Assisted Living
"Assisted Living is a special combination of housing and
personalized supportive services designed to respond to the individual needs
of those who need help with activities of daily living but do not need the
skilled medical care provided in a nursing home."¹
Assisted living communities have apartments equipped
with 24-hour emergency response systems that enhance the resident's
security and safety.
There are five principles of assisted living that assure residents
are able to define their individual care needs:
CHOICE - Residents are encouraged to express
their preferences and an array of services are designed for residents
to choose which ones they want.
INDEPENDENCE - Our communities are designed to be 100% accessible,
enabling residents to use adaptive aides and wheelchairs.
DIGNITY - Our staff greet residents personally and services
are delivered in a manner that respects a resident's privacy.
PRIVACY - All our residents reside in private apartments.
No staff will enter an apartment without knocking and obtaining
permission from the resident to enter. Medical and other records
are kept confidential.
HOME-LIKE ENVIRONMENT - Residents can furnish their own apartments
any way they desire. Residents have the right to socially interact
with others, to voice grievances, and to participate in all activities
that do not infringe upon the rights or safety of others.
Services offered in our assisted living communities include:
- Three meals a day served in a common dining area
- Weekly housekeeping services
- Scheduled transportation
- 24-hour personal assistance
- Personal laundry services
- Social and recreational programs'
